ChatGPT Launches Its Own ERC-20 Token

An Ethereum developer, CroissantETH, has successfully used OpenAI’s API to integrate ChatGPT into a custom application and generate its own ERC-20 token, AstroPepeX. This token was modeled off data from the top traded tokens on Uniswap, and its estimated market cap is $3.5 million.

According to Etherscan, there are now over 2,300 APX holders that have carried out over 17,700 transactions since the token’s launch on September 20.

The developer was able to get ChatGPT to deploy smart contracts on the Ethereum network after feeding it data on the top 10,000 traded tokens on Uniswap.

Creating AstroPepeX (APX) with ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s first attempt at creating an ERC-20 token was not successful, so the developer decided to incorporate data from the top traded Uniswap tokens to generate a more natural sounding output. To prevent any human intervention, CroissantETH implemented a solution that ensured ownership of the private keys and the contract contract.

As a result, ChatGPT created AstroPepeX (APX), sending 65,000,000,000 APX tokens and 2 Ether (ETH) in liquidity to Uniswap’s decentralized crypto exchange. Using exclusive access to blockchain analysis tools from Nansen 2’s beta, Cointelegraph confirmed that APX tokens have been transferred to DeFi platforms like Poloniex and centralized exchanges such as Bitget, MEXC, and LBank.

The website of AstroPepeX links to its Ethereum address and social media handles such as its community Telegram group with some 1,500 members, as well as a BuyTech bot that posts automatic updates of APX trades and the current market capitalization of the token. CroissantETH later tweeted that the token does not have an official Telegram group.
