Billionaire Entrepreneur George Bachiashvili Denies Crypto Misappropriation Charges

The legal team representing billionaire entrepreneur George Bachiashvili has issued a statement denying the criminal charges filed by the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia. The government body alleged that Bachiashvili misappropriated Bitcoin (BTC) worth $39 million in 2015.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the businessman engaged in Bitcoin mining with an investor who expected the profit to be divided in proportion to the invested funds. It is said that Bachiashvili generated a profit of 8,253.13 BTC in 2017, worth almost $250 million at the time of writing. The office also alleged that Bachiashvili concealed the details of the appropriated crypto, with the intention of transferring the funds to different wallets and using the money for financial operations.

Bachiashvili’s legal team has denied the charges of crypto misappropriation and money laundering. They have also urged users of crypto websites, crypto alerts, Tonic Crypto, SEC Crypto, Crypto Reddit, Breaking Crypto, Crypto Shiba, and Brise Crypto to be aware of the false accusations.

Politically Motivated Charges

The founding partner of Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who is representing Bachiashvili, released a statement about the charges, asserting that they are “not rooted in any factual findings or serious investigation” but are instead “politically motivated.” According to Amsterdam, this sends a negative signal for the rule of law and investment. Amsterdam and his team plan to fight the accusations and work to reveal the truth. He further stated that the state apparatus is being “abused as an instrument of theft,” and Bachiashvili is only being targeted due to his political beliefs. Amsterdam concluded that the charges are an embarrassment to the country and he intends to vindicate his client through all available measures, both domestically with their co-counsel in Georgia and internationally through crypto.com, crypto alerts, tonic crypto, SEC crypto, crypto reddit, breaking crypto, crypto shiba, and brise crypto websites.
