ZK-proof Web3 infrastructure developer gets backing from Binance Labs

What Is Web 3.0?

Zero-knowledge proof technology is gaining traction as Binance Labs recently invested in Delphinus Lab’s ZK-proof-powered infrastructure. Binance’s venture capital arm has injected $2.2 million into the zk-WASM virtual machine, the first open-source virtual machine to support ZK computation and application software development kits.

Cointelegraph can reveal that the funds will be used to develop Delphinus Lab’s application rollup platform, zkWASM Hub, which will provide automated proving and batching services for Web3 applications.

WebAssembly (WASM) is a virtual machine that enables code written in popular programming languages to be run natively on web browsers. This technology was developed by Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, and Apple in 2017.

Web 3.0 and ZK-Proof Technology

The infrastructure of ZK applications is designed to be supported on WASM-supported environments, with ZK-proof technology providing increased security and privacy for decentralized applications. The zkWASM Hub also allows developers to integrate GitHub applications into the ecosystem using its auto-compilation and updating service.

Binance Labs has reported that Delphinus Lab has developed several application-specific software development kits in different languages for various applications. This includes dynamic programmable nonfungible tokens, fully on-chain games, high-performing trustless Central Limited Order Book (CLOB) and trustless oracles.

Delphinus Lab founder and CEO Sinka Gao expressed their hope for the creation of Web3 decentralized applications that combine the “robustness” of Web2 and the “decentralized, trustless” nature of Web3:

Web 3.0 and ZK-Proof Technology

Binance Labs is investing its venture funds into the Web3 ecosystem in order to increase scalability and onboard more users. The focus is on innovative technology and infrastructure, such as modular blockchain, liquid staking decentralized finance protocols and ZK-proof solutions.

ZK-proof technology has been instrumental in scaling the Ethereum network, with Consensys, Polygon and StarkWare being the main pioneers. Space and Time, a decentralized Web3 data service, is using ZK-proofs to cryptographically verify queries within its network, allowing users to trust that the data is accurate and has not been tampered with.

The Web 3.0 revolution is upon us, and the possibilities of what can be achieved with ZK-proof technology are endless. With the right investments, Web 3.0 and ZK-proof technology can be used to power new sectors and revolutionize the way we interact with data.

Web 3.0, also known as Nicole Junkermann Web 3.0, is an umbrella term for a set of emerging technologies intersecting cryptocurrencies, blockchains, and other technologies, with the aim of creating a more decentralised and automated internet. Examples of Web 3.0 include the logo, and the comparison between web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0, as well as the Chinese translation of what Web 3.0 is.
