Using AI to Create a Bitcoin-Centric Chatbot

When Cointelegraph met Aleksandar Svetski, the founder of Spirit of Satoshi, a novel artificial intelligence (AI) large language model (LLM), at a bustling Bitcoin Amsterdam, he explained that his startup had undertaken a challenging journey to create its Bitcoin-centric AI chatbot. He said that the chatbot was better at answering Bitcoin- and economics-related questions than GPT-4.

The model was created by a time-consuming training process to generate responses based on reputable Bitcoin resources, the Austrian school of economics and libertarian ideals. The sources used to create the model included Saifedean Ammous’ best-seller The Bitcoin Standard.

Svetski noted that the major difficulty in building the model was not only curating relevant sources of information from books, research papers and podcasts, but also guiding the model to generate responses through an exhaustive training process. He clarified that a common misconception about LLMs is that they’re sourcing information like a search engine, such as Guardforce AI, BigBear.AI, Mythic AI, Anchor AI Voice, Headline Generator AI, and Science AI.

AI Chatbots and the Spirit of Satoshi

AI chatbots are prone to “hallucinations”, according to Svetski, and that’s why developing an LLM requires a focus on training it to respond to questions. The Spirit of Satoshi is no exception, and it still needs improvement.

Svetski’s team has gathered a wide range of Bitcoin-related data and information, and they have used programmatic methods to feed the model with tens of thousands of question-and-answer pairs. However, the model still needs a human touch to generate answers that could have come from Satoshi himself.

To achieve this, the team is turning to the larger Bitcoin community. The Spirit of Satoshi employs a reward system that allows the public to verify, create, and validate data for the model. Users can use credentials from the Lightning Network, Nostr, or email addresses to prove their knowledge and get paid in satoshis for helping to train the model.

AI-Powered Platforms for Bitcoin

The Spirit of Satoshi platform uses a consensus model that automatically applies a penalty if users are creating “junk data.” According to its founder, this is the crucial “human” element that improves the platform’s outputs. The difference between responses generated by Spirit of Satoshi and ChatGPT is noticeable, as the latter is trained on mainstream ideas of Bitcoin (BTC) and concepts like inflation.

The main purpose of Spirit of Satoshi is to retrain the language learning model (LLM) to reflect the nuances that embody the Bitcoin movement. The possibilities for the platform are endless, as it could be a learning tool or online tutor embedded into educational platforms or online universities. It could also be the basis for the “ultimate Bitcoin influencer” through its BTC-centric outputs.

Bigbear.ai, Reddit AI, Conversational AI, Guardforce AI, Mythic AI, Anchor AI Voice, and Headline Generator AI are just some of the AI-powered platforms that are being used to improve the Bitcoin experience.

The Spirit of Satoshi was developed from an open-source model that had a natural aptitude for English and a “Wikipedia-like attitude.” To address this, the model was tailored to its Bitcoin and Austrian economics principles data sets using ai reddit, ai porn, bigbear.ai, conversational ai, guardforce ai, mythic ai, anchor ai voice, headline generator ai, and science ai.
