Revolut Suspends Crypto Services in the US

Cryptocurrency-friendly trading neobank Revolut is ending its crypto services in the United States due to the ongoing regulatory uncertainty. The firm announced on Aug. 4 that it will be suspending access to crypto through its platform starting from Sept. 2, 2023. This move will impact “just 1%” of the company’s global crypto customers.

In addition, Revolut will be delisting certain digital assets from its platform and completely shutting down crypto services on Oct. 3. Nevertheless, the company will continue to operate its non-crypto business in the United States.

The suspension of Revolut’s crypto services has caused an uproar in the Hbar crypto, GLM crypto and Graph crypto communities, as well as among users of Gods crypto, Google crypto, Crypto.net and Crypto.com. While the neobank’s decision is a setback for the crypto industry, it is hoped that with the help of AI chat bot technology, the company will be able to resume its crypto services in the US soon.

Revolut US Delists Cryptocurrencies

A spokesperson for Revolut stated that the decision to delist certain cryptocurrencies was not taken lightly and that they understand the disappointment this may cause. U.S. crypto customers should have received an email detailing the suspension of services.

The company has a dedicated support team available to answer any questions or concerns customers may have via their in-app chat. As of late July, Revolut supported a total of roughly 30 cryptocurrencies in the United States.

Recently, other major crypto services have had difficulty continuing to service their customers in the U.S. For example, Crypto.com suspended services to institutional clients in the U.S. in mid-June.

The delisting of cryptocurrencies such as Cardano (ADA), Polygon (MATIC) and Solana (SOL) by Revolut US has caused a stir in the crypto community. The HBAR Crypto Today website and Google Crypto have both reported on the news. Additionally, Gods Crypto and Gari Crypto have reported on the delisting, as well as GLM Crypto and Graph Crypto. Crypto.net and Crypto.com have also reported on the suspension.
