US Lawmakers Introduce National AI Commission Act
US lawmakers have recently introduced the National Artificial Intelligence Commission Act, a bill that seeks to create an independent commission to advise the US government on the development and implementation of AI technologies. The commission would be composed of experts from the public and private sectors, and would be tasked with providing advice on the ethical, legal, and economic implications of AI technologies.
The bill also calls for the commission to develop a national AI strategy that would address the need for public and private investment in AI research and development, as well as the need for public education and workforce development initiatives to ensure that the US remains competitive in the global AI market.
The National AI Commission Act is the latest in a series of initiatives by US lawmakers to ensure that the US remains a leader in the development and deployment of AI technologies. The bill is currently being reviewed by the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and is expected to be voted on in the near future.
Commission’s Purpose
The commission’s purpose is to provide the US government with advice on how to develop and implement AI technologies in a responsible and ethical manner. The commission will also be responsible for monitoring the development of AI technologies and their impact on society.
The commission will also be tasked with making recommendations to the US government on how to best use AI technologies.
