Bitcoiners are stacking ’em up: Inactive BTC supply hits all-time highs

History and Current State of Web 3.0

Data on the blockchain suggests that Bitcoin (BTC) holders are currently accumulating BTC, with exchange holdings at their lowest in a year and the percentage of inactive BTC supply at an all-time high.

As per Glassnode’s Bitcoin supply last active chart, the inactive BTC that has not moved from an address for more than one, three and five year time frames has been at an all-time high since July 2021.

Coinmarketcap’s Bitcoin analytics also confirms this trend, with an estimated 69%, or 36.8 million, addresses holding BTC for more than a year.

CryptoQuant’s charts also show that Bitcoin outflows from exchanges have been steadily declining since July 2021, with around 2 million BTC expected to remain on exchanges.

Web 3.0 and Crypto Exchanges

Coinglass’s Bitcoin on exchanges tracker breaks down the amount of circulating BTC held by major centralized exchanges. Binance is at the top of the list with 543,281 BTC, but the exchange has seen a significant outflow of Bitcoin in the last 30 days, with 21,645 BTC being withdrawn.

Coinbase Pro comes in second, with 435,530 BTC, yet it has seen 3,612 BTC withdrawn from its platform in the last month. OKX is the only exchange in the top ten that recorded a significant inflow of Bitcoin in the last 30 days, with 4,630 BTC being moved onto the platform over the past month.
