On the 13th of June, the German shoe company Puma released their 3D virtual world, Black Station. According to the creators, Black Station is an “immersive home” for exclusive product releases to give Puma Pass NFT holders “unrestricted access”.
The company states that the experience is open to all, but only those with RB tokens that were distributed to Puma Pass holders can buy a virtual “Rulebreaker” sneaker and get two digital accessories. At the moment, RB tokens are being sold for 0.0125 Ether (ETH). The developers stated:
Holders of the RB token can incinerate it from June 13th to 20th on Black Station, granting the wallet it is attached to access to a selection of product drops in the metaverse. According to its roadmap, Black Station will have more general events and NFT drops this year, with 2024 events still in the process of being created.
The experience will be available until June 23. Prior to that, Puma had been investigating other blockchains, but ultimately chose to stay on Ethereum. Furthermore, digital collectibles can be bought with either a credit card or ETH from a connected wallet.
In February 2022, Cointelegraph reported that Puma had registered a domain on the Ethereum Name Service and altered its Twitter handle to Puma.eth. At the same time, Puma had invested in several feline-inspired NFT collections, such as Cool Cats NFT, Lazy Lions, Gutter Cat Gang, and CatBlox.
