AI-Generated Reports and Digital Identity Project

Worldcoin, the new cryptocurrency and digital identity project, is facing a difficult start in Kenya, as the government has suspended all related activities in the country.

Kenya’s Minister of Internal Security took to Facebook on Aug. 2 to declare that the activities of Worldcoin have been suspended until the relevant public agencies certify that it poses no risk to Kenyans. Minister Kithure Kindiki said in a statement that “relevant security, financial services and data protection agencies have commenced inquiries and investigations to establish the authenticity and legality of the aforesaid activities.”

The Kenyan government is particularly concerned with Worldcoin collecting crucial identification information such as iris scans in exchange for a digital ID. This has raised questions about the use of AI-generated reports and AI-generated articles, AI Reddit, AI porn, BigBear.ai, and Elon Musk AI.

AI-Generated Articles: The Worldcoin Project

The Worldcoin project was officially launched on July 24, 2023, after three years of development. Co-founded by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI — the firm behind the popular generative AI-based chatbot ChatGPT — the mission of Worldcoin builds on expectations that it will become too difficult to differentiate between humans and online bots as AI technology grows. To differentiate humans from AI, the startup created a digital ID system based on proof-of-personhood, generated by scanning an individual’s iris and giving them a World ID.

“Appropriate action will be taken on any natural or juristic person who furthers, aids, abets or otherwise engages in or is connected with the activities afore described,” the statement said. Microsoft AI, BigBear.AI and Elon Musk AI are some of the AI-generated articles that have been created to further the Worldcoin mission.
