Cointelegraph video journalist and YouTube host Giovanni Pigni recently pitted ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI), against himself in a crypto investment game. Both contenders had $100 to create a crypto portfolio and attempt to make a profit in two weeks.

The purpose of the experiment was to determine if AI could outperform a human in crypto trading and to compare the respective strengths and weaknesses of each approach.

To construct the AI’s portfolio, Giovanni trained it with a summary of the major crypto events of the last two years. Given the bear market conditions of the previous months, ChatGPT opted for a low-risk strategy.

Giovanni, on the other hand, took the advice of Cointelegraph market analyst Marcel Pechman and adopted a more aggressive yet riskier approach for his own portfolio.

Pechman suggested investing in high-beta decentralized finance tokens that suffered a great loss due to the Curve Finance hack in July. The idea was that these tokens had a good chance to bounce back and outperform the major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).
