Polygon CDK to power Web3 loyalty program for Indian e-commerce Flipkart

Flipkart Launches Web3 Loyalty Program with Polygon’s CDK

Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce giant, has announced the launch of its FireDrops Web3 loyalty program, which will be powered by Polygon’s Chain Development Kit (CDK). The strategic partnership between the two companies is positioning Flipkart into Web3 and the crypto metaverse, with initiatives such as Flipverse for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), eDAO for the metaverse, and the FireDrops NFT marketplace.

Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal revealed on Dec. 7 that the Flipkart loyalty program will be built on the Polygon CDK. Flipkart has also shared plans to use the Polygon CDK to create an Ethereum-based zero-knowledge (ZK) layer-2 network, which will help the e-commerce platform scale its services and support future growth.

Crypto Partnership and Polygon 2.0

Flipkart is leveraging the Polygon CDK to offer a comprehensive onboarding experience, exclusive blockspace, and low transaction costs to its users. Nailwal, while announcing the initiative, highlighted that the participation of leading organizations will further strengthen India’s position as a Web3 powerhouse.

Jordi Baylina, co-founder of Polygon, revealed that in 2024 Polygon’s various Ethereum layer-2 scaling networks will be amalgamated to complete its “Polygon 2.0” cross-chain coordination protocol. Baylina further shared with Cointelegraph that Polygon 2.0 will assess how the different networks of the Polygon ecosystem can scale and integrate through the implementation of zero-knowledge proofs.
