Uniswap Launches Closed Beta Android App

On October 12th, decentralized crypto exchange Uniswap released a closed beta version of its Android mobile application, as mentioned in a blog post by the development team. Before this, Uniswap was only available on PC and iOS devices.

Uniswap is the world’s largest decentralized crypto exchange in terms of cumulative volume, with over $1.7 trillion worth of trades since its launch, according to DefiLlama data. The majority of these trades are conducted through a web-based application. Nevertheless, the team launched an iOS mobile app on April 13th, after facing delays from the App Store.

The new Android beta app allows users to switch between different networks without having to select coins manually. It detects the network a coin is on and switches to it accordingly. Currently, it is compatible with Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and BNB Chain, with more networks to be added in the future.

The wallet also provides Ethereum transactions with a private pool to help protect against front-running and sandwich attacks, although this feature can be turned off if the user desires. Additionally, it is able to detect most coins with built-in transfer fees, displaying them in the interface for the user’s awareness.

The announcement linked to a signup for an email waitlist, which it stated would be used to roll out copies of the app to early adopters. The team also plans to release the app’s open-source code in the coming weeks, as part of its security audit with Trail of Bits.

Uniswap is not the only decentralized exchange to offer a mobile wallet. In 2021, 1inch launched a mobile wallet for iOS, and an Android version of it was published in October.

To understand how web 3.0 is different from web 2.0, it is important to know that web 3.0 is decentralized, while web 2.0 is not. Polygon is one of the most popular platforms for web 3.0 development, and the Metaverse is also part of the web 3.0 ecosystem. Investing in web 3.0 is possible, and many experts believe it is the future of the internet. Learning web 3.0 development is a great way to get involved in this exciting new technology.
