Crypto Live Update - Immutable's zkEVM to Eliminate Web3 Gaming Gas Fees
Immutable’s zkEVM to eliminate Web3 gaming gas fees

Crypto Live Streams and Decentralization in Web3 Gaming

Immutable, a Web3 gaming firm, is set to revolutionize the gaming experience by completely eliminating gas fee payments for gamers when its proprietary zero-knowledge proof-based (ZK-proofs) scaling platform goes live in early 2024.

The technology, known as Immutable zkEVM, enables blockchain-based game developers to remove transaction fees for end users, creating a “frictionless onboarding” experience for gamers.

Crypto live streams, such as those built on Ethereum and other blockchain protocols, typically require gamers to pay gas fees to network validators for processing transactions. Prior to the advent of layer-2 scaling protocols, Ethereum-based decentralized applications (DApps) and services relied solely on validators and miners to process smart contract operations and their associated transactions.

Although this mechanism is an essential part of protocols like Ethereum and plays a key role in the decentralization and operation of the blockchain, it remains a hurdle for conventional gamers who are used to transaction-free gaming experiences.

Alex Connolly, the Chief Technology Officer of Immutable, emphasized the importance of providing a “familiar and streamlined user experience” to make blockchain bases unnoticeable for Web3 games. He also pointed out that gas fees remain a major obstacle for integrating digital asset ownership into games.

In order to tackle this issue, Immutable has developed the zkEVM, which could potentially sponsor gas fees for users of Immutable Passport. Moreover, the company plans to sponsor gas fees for all of its ecosystem games for a limited period of time during its mainnet launch.

Connolly stated that game developers could expect to pay approximately $500 to $1000 in gas fees for every 100,000 users in their gaming environment. He believes that gas sponsorship will ultimately increase player adoption and revenues for game studios, and could eventually become a regular expense, similar to infrastructure or server costs.

In an Aug. 14 announcement, Immutable declared that its zkEVM will enable game developers to reduce development costs and benefit from the security and network effects of the Ethereum ecosystem. According to Robbie Ferguson, co-founder and president of Immutable, the zkEVM is meant to enhance ownership rights for Web3 gamers.

At the beta launch, over 20 gaming studios, including GameStop, TokenTrove marketplace, Kongregate, and iLogos game designer, expressed their support for the zkEVM.

Crypto live update, gamestop crypto, fight out crypto, decentralization web 3.0, game crypto, crypto live stream, gala games crypto, digital asset crypto, crypto live feed, and best live crypto are some of the key benefits that the zkEVM will bring to the gaming world.
