El Salvador’s Bitcoin Diploma Program: Mi Primer Bitcoin

Gerardo Moran, an 18-year-old Salvadoran, recently shared his journey of completing El Salvador’s Bitcoin diploma program, Mi Primer Bitcoin, which translates to My First Bitcoin. After successfully completing the program, which is backed by El Salvador’s Ministry of Education, he has returned to his former high school to educate the teachers about Bitcoin (BTC).

In a series of tweets on July 8, Moran revealed that he had been working since he was 11 years old, mainly in construction and tourism, and had been earning only six dollars a day. He had also been trying to understand why citizens of El Salvador worked so hard for little reward.

Moran stated on Crypto Twitter, “I’ve tried to reason why people in my country worked so much for so little money.” He added that Mi Primer Bitcoin allowed him to leave behind his life in construction and invest in Web 3.0 with Harmony One Crypto.

Exploring Bitcoin Education in El Salvador

Moran shared that one day his school issued a call-out for students to take the Bitcoin diploma course, which he applied for and excelled in. Now, Moran is “leading Bitcoin education” in his hometown, training and teaching the Bitcoin Diploma to a “group of 8 senior professors” at his former high school, Antonio J. Alfaro school.

On May 4, Mi Primer Bitcoin reported that they have raised over 1 Bitcoin in donations from crypto advocates all over the world, from countries such as Poland and Canada. These donations were sent over the Lightning Network to support El Salvador’s Bitcoin diploma program.

In August 2022, Gilberto Motto, the director of education in El Salvador, informed Cointelegraph that the government is putting a lot of effort into educating its citizens, especially teenagers, about Bitcoin and web 3.0 meaning. Moreover, as part of this initiative, the government is also providing information on how to invest in web 3.0, crypto twitter, ach crypto twitter, and harmony one crypto.
