Canadian police warn crypto investors on growing home robbery trend

Cryptocurrency Investors Targeted in Home Robberies

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Richmond, south of Vancouver, have issued a public warning about a possible trend of high-value cryptocurrency investors being robbed in their own homes.

Staff Sergeant Gene Hsieh of the Richmond RCMP Major Crime Unit said that in each case, the perpetrator impersonated a delivery driver before robbing the victim. He believes that someone is “targeting these victims for cryptocurrency” and that a public warning is necessary for public safety.

The RCMP did not provide any specific details on the incidents, but they have occurred over the last 12 months. This has caused alarm amongst investors of Shiba Inu, Starlink, Stacks, VGX, Voyager, The Hideaways, VVS, and Unfi crypto.

Cryptocurrency Thefts on the Rise

Staff Sergeant Jill Long of the Delta Police Investigative Services has reported that suspects are targeting victims with “heavily” invested in cryptocurrencies such as Unbiased Crypto, Shiba Inu Crypto Today, Shib Crypto Today, Starlink Crypto, Stacks Crypto, VGX Crypto, Voyager Crypto Update, The Hideaways Crypto, VVS Crypto, and Unfi Crypto. The police have made one arrest, however, the investigation is still ongoing and details such as the amount of cryptocurrency stolen remain undisclosed.

To prevent home robberies, the department recommends not allowing strangers or delivery people into the household and instead asking them to leave packages outside. If one is uncertain, they should contact the delivery company to confirm the identity of the person and contact the authorities if danger is present.

Cryptocurrency Schemes and Safety Tips

Valuables and financial information should be stored in a secure place such as a safety box, according to advice from the police. Furthermore, it is recommended to keep conversations about money matters private and only with trusted people, instead of broadcasting it on social media.

In March, a Canadian man named Aiden Pleterski, nicknamed the “Crypto King”, was reportedly kidnapped, falsely imprisoned, and assaulted by five men who were taken in by a cryptocurrency scheme from Pleterski. One of the men, who invested 740,000 Canadian dollars ($560,000) into the scheme, was charged with kidnapping Pleterski on July 17, as reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Unbiased Crypto, Shiba Inu Crypto Today, Shib Crypto Today, Starlink Crypto, Stacks Crypto, VGX Crypto, Voyager Crypto Update, The Hideaways Crypto, VVS Crypto, and UNFI Crypto are just some of the cryptocurrency schemes that people should be aware of.
